| THE PHYSICAL BOOK |
| |
Cirlox (comb) binding - this form of binding was purposefully selected because, as a reference book, it is important for the book to remain open on its own and lay flat while in use.
Laminated covers - the plastic laminated covers provide extreme strength to the binding. Most books with this type of binding soon have pages tearing away from the binding. Tearing begins with the covers. If the covers cannot tear, neither will the pages. This book weighs 1 kg. (2.2 lbs) and can be suspended safely even by one cover with no fear of damage. The plastic laminated covers also offer a measure of resistance to minor spills (coffee, etc.) at the workstation.
Gold embossed spine - the attractive imprinted spine allows the book to be easily identified on any bookshelf, unlike books with no spine label. The spine label is durable and will not fade, wash, or wear off.
Section dividers - bright yellow dividers printed with the Appendix titles are provided on heavy paper between the various sections of the gazetteer to provide ease in locating the desired section of the book.
